Dr. Barbara Seymour, DNP, RN, NE-BC, CPPS, serves as the AVP of Member Networks for the Vizient Chief Nurse Executives Network. Her dynamic and engaging leadership approach is supported by her over 25 years of nursing experience, with a clinical background in cardiac and critical care. Barb’s progressive leadership experience has culminated in a decade of executive roles as a chief nursing officer in multi-hospital organizations. Barbara earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky; a master's degree in healthcare administration from the University of St. Francis; and a doctorate degree in nurse executive leadership from the University of Central Florida. Her doctoral work focused on leadership development and the influence on achieving exceptional patient and organizational outcomes. Barbara is passionate about sharing her own personal story with her father's illness and journey through healthcare, and helping others identify and connect to their own personal "why" as healthcare providers.
